I am a thirty something female in the military on the road to financial freedom. I am not at all frugal, nor do I want to be. I want to be comfortable and most importantly–debt free. This blog is to detail my experiences with money. I am definitely not a financial expert.
My 2011 goals:
Save for retirement: Max out my Roth IRA at $5,000. Max out TSP at $16,500. Total: $21,500.
Save for a downpayment: Save $800 a month. Total: $9,600.
Save 3-6 months of an emergency fund. Save $500 a month. Total: $6,000.
Save for a car. Save $300 a month. Total: $3,600.
Save for vacation. Save $200 a month. Total: $2,400. This a variable since I will take trips throughout the year.
Continue to pre-pay my rental mortgage at $1,048 a month. Total: $12,576.
Teach Financial Peace University at church I have given up on this…need to take a course in order to teach. I just do not have the time.
